It is possible to do well while doing good. This is the premise behind Socially Responsible Investing – a distinctive feature of New Covenant Funds.

In addition to the specific investment objective of each of the funds, New Covenant Funds make investment decisions consistent with the social-witness principles adopted by the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). These policies flow from our faith and stewardship of God’s resources entrusted to the Church. They factor into our choices of where to invest (and where not to) and guide the way we engage with the companies whose shares we hold.

New Covenant Funds may limit investments in companies involved in gambling, alcohol, tobacco and firearm related issues through our investment adviser. The Funds have been successful in achieving competitive investment results while investing in a socially conscious manner. However, investors should be aware that the Funds may choose to sell otherwise profitable investments in companies which have been identified as being in conflict with these social-witness principles.

New Covenant Trust Company, on behalf of the adviser, also takes an active role in promoting other socially responsible practices involving issues such as the way a company treats its employees, how it interacts with the communities where it manufactures and sells its products and its environmental record. SEI Investments Distribution Co. is not affiliated with New Covenant Trust Company.

All these factors are weighed carefully in an effort to determine the best investment selections and how to align the Funds’ holdings. For more information on our socially responsible investment philosophy read the Statement of Additional Information (available on the Knowledge and Resources page) that explains more specifically how we determine our investment strategy.

Past performance does not guarantee future results.

Mission Responsibility Through Investment

Mission Responsibility Through Investment (MRTI), is a committee of the Presbyterian General Assembly. More than that, it’s a way for the wider church to act as faithful stewards.
